Two things follow from that table. Non-Londoner prices have risen in each of the last two editions, so expect 2026 face value to land at or above the 2025 figures. And the face-value sale caps each buyer at four tickets, which is why larger groups often end up on a marketplace even when they were quick enough on release day.

And if you are landing on 31 December itself, land before lunch: road closures around the event footprint begin in the afternoon and the walk from your station to your gate can be close to two kilometres along a stewarded route.

Where to Stay for Each Side of the River

Your area decides which bank you are on when the display ends, and crossing the Thames afterwards is slow. Pick the hotel neighbourhood to match.

• Blue and Red (north bank): Covent Garden, the Strand, Holborn and Temple put you within a 15 to 25 minute walk of the Embankment gates and away from the worst of the post-midnight queues at Embankment and Charing Cross stations.
• Green, White and Pink (south bank): Waterloo, Southwark and the streets behind the South Bank are ideal. Many guests in these areas never touch the Underground on the night.
• Westminster and Victoria: good for Blue via the Victoria gate, but Westminster station is closed as an entry point for the White area, so check your gate before booking here.
• Further out: the Underground runs through the night but stations nearest the river queue heavily from around 12:15am. Walking the first mile and joining the network at a quieter station is usually faster than waiting.
